Case Study: The VenetianThe presentation start with the case study of the Venetian Hotel in Macao, As the beginning of an idea that run the project till finish. The analysis of the hotel lead me to the question " What is the elements that construct the experience of inside and outside? The Venetian in Macao not only included the outside that generated by artificial sky. Many symbolism also help to create the experience such as facade of the buildings below the artificial sky. Since the space is inside the hotel. There are no functional reason for do the facade like that. The only reason is to make us feel like we are outside by using it as symbolism,
Recreation of nature
The diagram above show how human create the enclosed space. We start with find somewhere on earth. Create some kind of partition to contain us. We protect ourselves by limit the earth activities that effect us. We create roof to protect us from rain. And when we reach the level that we fully enclosed. We will start to imitate that activities and control it. We have light bulb that work like controllable sun light. We have air condition to control temperature inside. And In case of The Venetian, They recreate the sky to the ceiling.

Dubai is one of the most extreme countries of the world. While it extremely hot it also extremely hot. My study of inside and outside shift to the recreation of nature. Due the site of Dubai is the city on dessert and the project is locate in underground. I choose to recreate the climate of the earth and merge it with the shopping mall.
Taxonomy of Climate
The taxonomy of climate become tools for create the space that belong to different climate of the world. By programming the space with the climate, The border of each climate create new experience. The experience at the point when artificial climate clash with each others. The experience that never exist outside the shopping mall.
Taxonomy of Activities and Effects
The taxonomy of climate is the sets of activities that occur in different climate and different landscape. By apply the activities specifically to the climate. Activities help to create the experience by imitate movement that happen in the real climate outside. Effects is the phenomena that occur in each space.
The climatic plan show how different climate apply into the underground. By merge the landscape of different climate together. The landscape of shopping mall is continue smoothly. But contrast with different surface Included sand surface for dessert, Grass for continental and sea for tropical. every space connected with the grass elevator service core. That connect the underground with ground surface and provide service program such as information and toilet.
Commercial & Circulation
While the journey through the different landscape and climate are the key experience. I also provide alternative circulation in each climate for the customers who intent to shopping in favorite climate and skip some the activities such as skiing or rock climbing. The walk path will become the network that not only provide circulation space but also limit the space that available for commercial.

While the landscape and climate of shopping mall imitate and take advantage from the artificial nature. The grid construction drag the experience back to man-made space. Balance of static man-made and dynamics nature create the experience at the border between symbolism of man made and nature.
