Design Development:Preliminary Plan

This is a perspective view of a conceptual idea of my underground shopping mall where in this collage, I try to show the collision of different tribes in one big area. As you can see, there are many spaces differentiated by the surface material that makes people use the space freely. These surfaces are meant for various usage according to each individual e.g. grass can be use by tourists to sit around and chill or by another nationality of tourist to do yoga. More specifically, these surface materials accomodates different activities when it is in a flat plane or in slope e.g. the sand in slope  provides people space to play sand skii, while if it is flat, people might desert camp or ride camels. The spaces can adjacent to each other while still being in certain height according to the hierarchy of the space. Some space might be hidden in tunnels while others more open and interactive.

This is another perspective view of one of the spaces in my underground shopping mall that would mostly lead to people using the space as a nightclub. Looking deep into the perspective is a tunnel that is dark without that much detail or what you will be facing once you are in deeper. As you walk in deeper, patterns on the floor emerges with more details and lightings. Once you are in the space, you experienced all the elements of the program. the LED lighting, the thumping music, the patterns always changing on the floor, the room that is not a simple rectangle but has tilted walls and etc. Again, at different occasions, sometimes this room might be just a dark room that people can use as a screen room, cinema, or karaoke room.
This is my previous site where I chose it based on the three most dense population districts of Dubai, Al Dhagaya, Naif, Ayal Naser. The chosen site does not match what I tried to create in my perspective so I re chose the site again.
This is my second site redo since the first site are only in tunnels, which does not refer back to my idea of the collision of space and different tribes. As a result, I explored the site more deeply and saw that there is a hub that is available on ground level where it doesn't disturb the structures of any other building since it is a car parking space. That is the largest area, which is be my hub. The rest of the site are networks of entrances that is to drag in as many types of people as possible into my site including office workers, policemen, locals, people who always attend mosques, tourists, expats, and etc. All of these are at separate entrances and will intersect like a network through the tunnels that will lead to the hub. At different tunnels, there will be different narratives created from the background of each type of people in order to make them interpret the space in a certain way and once they get to the hub, use the space in a certain way. For example, if an office worker would enter my underground shopping mall, they are probably tired from work and looks for something to eat or some place to relax. I would use the surface of grass as an element in the corridor hinting to the hub where it is a grass space where you can rest like you are in the park or you can exercise, golf and etc. Of course, some tribes might come in through another tribe's entrance, however, with the different interpretation that they will have to the different surfaces and background, they will decide to change direction and know that they do not belong or they would go to the hub and use a certain space differently.
This is a section of the hub as you can see the section line cut through the plan above. This shows how the space is used and the changing surfaces in one main space.

This is a preliminary plan of my underground shopping mall where I laid out a few main programs and cut a section through my most important program, which is the hub.
